Vol. 7 🎧

Notes from the Founder

Warm Winter Greetings!

With a musical flair, we’re “rockin’ and rollin'” here at Senior Music Connection! We’re incredibly grateful for the unwavering support from our clients,

Owner + Founder, Krissy O'Malley

the community, our musicians, and our volunteers. Your involvement makes our work possible, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

There’s so much happening that it’s challenging to share everything, but here are a few highlights:

Expanding Our Team & Reach

✧ We’re thrilled to welcome three trained music therapists to our team! Betsy G. from Cincinnati has already taken on four facilities, expanding our presence in southwest Ohio.

✧ Marie Bliss, a recent University of Dayton graduate, will soon bring her music therapy expertise to even more of our partner facilities.

✧ Jessica H. is even working with a 2-year-old client! We’re excited to explore new demographics and see what the future holds.

New & Varied Demographics

✧ We continue to provide bi-weekly sessions to RT Industries, working with adults who have special needs. These sessions are a joy and always leave us feeling inspired and blessed.

✧ We also now provide weekly sessions at the Miami County Cooperative Learning Center, bringing music education, appreciation, therapy, and history to K-12 students. We’re grateful for the warm welcome from the students and staff.

Stay tuned for more updates! We’re excited to continue sharing our journey with you.

With sincere gratitude,

Krissy O’Malley

Senior Music Connection

Musician Spotlight

We’re lucky to partner with Sentimental Productions, a video production organization who brings glimpses of Americana to people of all ages. Sentimental Productions has been providing online music & entertainment for seniors since 1988.

The organization has various different video series, with one being The Sentimental Sing-Along Collection, with 20 volumes made for audience participation. Scores of singers and musicians called the Sentimental Entertainers perform tunes that are sometimes silly, usually lively and always fun.

Coming up… we will be collaborating this St. Patrick’s Day, where Jim Delaney (owner and founder of Sentimental Productions), will be sharing a storytelling presentation with songs and authentic Irish-American history. You don’t want to miss this!

Through our affiliate partnership and their video subscriptions, we’re able to share America’s Heritage through Story, Scenery and Song with seniors in and around our area. What a joy it’s been! If you would like to subscribe to a video series, click the link below.

“The past two weeks we have had two amazing performers from you guys: Mr. Pat and Mr. Bobby Tee. Our residents said they both were amazing and they brought some new music to our happy hour. Your company has some great performers, can’t wait to meet more! Thank you.” — Activity Director, Brittany W.

Fast Forward

It’s podcast time, where we talk about “all things seniors and music.” In this episode,

we chat with healthcare financial consultant, Krista Ramey, as she shares valuable information about Medicare and navigating the often-challenging process. Krista has a wealth of knowledge about Medicare: something that’s very important, yet can be fairly ambiguous. Check it out and discover all you need to know about Medicare! Watch the episode here.

Oh… And in case you haven’t heard yet — we’re famous! Not really. But seriously. We recently won the DATV 2024 Podcast Producer of the Year

award! We are so proud and humbled to earn such an incredible honor, and this only motivates us to produce more wonderful content for our cherished audience members in the future. Be sure to catch up on our most recent podcasts and follow us on YouTube for more!
